Managing Residential Properties (RES202), along with DREI’s 2-days property management course, is required to achieve the ARM certification. The course provides residential managers with the tools and the expertise necessary to professionally manage the day-to-day aspects of residential properties. The student workbook for this course is a comprehensive resource that will serve as an ongoing reference tool, and provides many forms and checklists for immediate, on- the-job application.
Course Outline:
Topics to cover are: Ethics, Site Management, Leadership Risk, Management and Finance, Asset Management, Accounting and Budgeting, Budgeting , Physical Property and the ARM certification exam.
Course Objectives:
• Understand residential property management and the roles and responsibilities of the residential property manager.
• Understand what owners expect of the property manager, and assist in meeting owners' goals and reporting to owners, lenders, and regulatory agencies.
• Assist in all areas of managing the residential property, including relations with staff, contractors, and residents, budgeting and accounting, and maintenance.
• Determine what tasks need to be prioritized and completed.
• Lead, motivate, support, and manage staff as appropriate.
Target Audience:
Property managers, property admin supervision team, REITs, fund and wealth managers, family offices, banks, service providers and insurance/pension funds, endowments and sovereign wealth funds. Senior executives, such as directors, chief financial officers, fund and asset managers, legal professionals and consultants.
Individuals must have already completed and passed the DREI 2-day property management course, as well as RES202 and the ARM certification exam to be eligible to apply for the ARM certification.
